SPK SMP Xin Zhong merupakan Sekolah Tiga Bahasa berstatus SPK (Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama) yang menerapkan Kurikulum SPK SMP Xin Zhong mencakup rumpun mata pelajaran nasional, rumpun mata pelajaran Cambridge, dan pengajaran Bahasa Tionghoa berstandar Beijing dengan tenaga pengajar lokal dan asing yang telah memenuhi standar pendidikan keguruan nasional atau internasional.

Secondary School

Xin Zhong SPK Secondary School is a Three Language School with the status of SPK (Cooperation Education Unit) which implements the curriculum of Xin Zhong SPK Secondary School covering national subjects groups, Cambridge subject groups, and Beijing-standard Chinese language teaching with local and foreign teachers who have met national and international teacher education standards.

Kurikulum

Rumpun mata pelajaran nasional yang wajib diikuti oleh siswa terdiri dari mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama dan Budi Pekerti, Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan, dan Bahasa Indonesia. Ketiga mata pelajaran tersebut mengacu pada Kurikulum 2013 dari Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia dan diajarkan ke siswa dengan tujuan mengembangkan kepribadian siswa berupa nilai-nilai spiritual dan nilai-nilai sosial sesuai dengan visi dan misi sekolah.

SPK SMP Xin Zhong menggunakan Cambridge Lower Secondary Program untuk kelas 7-8 dan Cambridge Upper Secondary Program untuk kelas 9-10. Kurikulum Cambridge Internasional telah di ikuti oleh hampir 10.000 sekolah di lebih dari 160 negara di dunia. Kurikulum Cambridge meliputi mata pelajaran English, Mathematics, Science, Information and Communication Technology dan Global Perspectives untuk Lower Secondary yaitu kelas 7-8. Sedangkan untuk Upper Secondary kelas 9-10 mencakup mata pelajaran English as a Second Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, Information and Communication Technology dan Global Perspectives. Mata pelajaran ini terstruktur dan memiliki standar pemetaan kompetensi akademik siswa. Cambridge International memberikan final assessment untuk Lower Secondary yaitu Progression Test untuk kelas 7 dan Secondary Checkpoint untuk kelas 8 sedangkan untuk jenjang Upper Secondary adalah IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) pada akhir kelas 10.

Pengajaran Bahasa Tionghoa di SPK SMP Xin Zhong berdasarkan standar Beijing, dimana siswa diharapkan mampu menguasai uji kemahiran Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi ( HSK) serta mempunyai kemampuan berkomunikasi secara lisan dan tulisan dalam Bahasa Tionghoa. Selain pelajaran Bahasa Tionghoa, SPK SMP Xin Zhong juga memberikan pengenalan kepada siswa mengenai kebudayaan Tionghoa sejak dini. SPK SMP Xin Zhong juga menerapkan Pengembangan Karakter (Charater Building) yang menggunakan pedoman Di Zi Gui. Tujuan pengajaran Di Zi Gui adalah untuk membentuk pribadi yang unggul dalam moralitas.

Melalui penerapkan kurikulum yang bersifat holistik-integratif sebagai perpaduan antara mata pelajaran nasional, program Cambridge, dan pengajaran bahasa Tionghoa, siswa SPK SMP Xin Zhong diharapkan menjadi seorang pribadi yang bertumbuh kembang seutuhnya dalam aspek fisik (psikomotorik), sosial-emosional (afektif), kognitif, moral dan spiritual.

Curriculum

The national subject groups that students must take consists of religious and moral education, Pancasila and civics education, also Indonesian Language. These three subjects refer to the 2013 Curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and are taught to students with the aim of developing students’ personalities in the form of spiritual and social values in accordance with the school’s vision and mission.

Xin Zhong SPK Secondary School uses Cambridge Lower Secondary Program for grades 7-8 and Cambridge Upper Secondary Program for grades 9-10. Cambridge International curriculum has been applied by nearly 10,000 schools in more than 160 countries around the world. Cambridge curriculum includes English, Mathematics, Science, Information and Communication Technology and Global Perspectives subjects for Lower Secondary that is grades 7-8. As for Upper Secondary grades 9-10 include subjects English as a Second Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, Information and Communication Technology and Global Perspectives. These subjects are structured and have a mapping standard of student academic competence. Cambridge International provides final assessment for Lower Secondary namely Progression Test for grade 7 and Secondary Checkpoint for grade 8, while for Upper Secondary level is IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) at the end of grade 10.

Cambridge’s various subjects, particularly English, Mathematics, Science and ICT, are reinforced in their links with Cambridge Global Perspectives subjects. Cambridge Global Perspectives equips students from an early age with research, analysis, evaluation, reflection, collaboration and communication skills. This program places academic learning in a practical context in the real world. The main focus and emphasis of Cambridge Global Perspective is on developing students’ competence to think creatively about global issues that always have more than one perspective.

Chinese language teaching at Xin Zhong SPK Secondary School is based on Beijing standards, where students are expected to be able to master Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) proficiency test and have the ability to communicate orally and in writing in Chinese language. In addition to Chinese lessons, Xin Zhong SPK Secondary School also provides an introduction to students about Chinese culture from an early age. Xin Zhong SPK Secondary School also teaches Character Building using Di Zi Gui guidelines. The purpose of Di Zi Gui‘s teaching is to form a person who excels in morality.

Through the implementation of a holistic-integrative curriculum as a combination of national subjects, Cambridge programs, and Chinese language teaching, students of Xin Zhong SPK Secondary School are expected to become individuals who fully develop in the physical (psychomotor), socio-emotional (affective), cognitive, moral and spiritual aspects.
